Limerick gardaí investigating dissident activity arrest nine men

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested nine men as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.

The arrests come after a number of searches in Limerick city and county.

The men range in age from their 30s to their 50s, and are being detained in Roxboro Road, Henry Street, Mayorstone, Newcastle West, and Askeaton garda stations.

They are being detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended, under which they can be detained for up to seven days.
