Paddy Power to create 600 jobs

The positions in areas such as e-commerce, technology, social media and risk management will be rolled out by 2015.
Paddy Power has recruited almost 200 people since April. These 600 new jobs will be based at the bookmakers new headquarters in Clonskeagh in Dublin.
The positions are in areas such as e-commerce, technology, social media, quantitative research, risk management and online marketing and will support the company's international online expansion.
All 600 new jobs will be filled by the end of 2015, bringing the total number of jobs at the bookmakers to 2,783.
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has commended the company for its commitment to Ireland for retaining and training Irish graduates.

Patrick Kennedy, chief executive of Paddy Power, said the firm is hiring at an increased rate and investing heavily in e-commerce to capitalise on emerging opportunities around the globe as more countries licence online betting and gaming.
"We are a business born and bred in Ireland and we take pride in continuing to create high quality jobs with the associated economic multiplier effect in this country, particularly given the current economic challenges," said Mr Kennedy.
"We welcome the Government's introduction of a licensing regime and commitment to a robust regulatory framework which will sustain and attract investment."
The group revealed strong international online growth in recent years has resulted in four fifths of the its operating profit being generated online last year.
Paddy Power is the number one mobile online bookmaker in the UK and Ireland and the number one online corporate bookmaker in Australia.
In May, Paddy Power launched in the Italian online market, resourced out of Rome and Dublin.
It also recently secured a preliminary finding of suitability from the Nevada Gaming Commission and has located resources in the US to prepare for the opening of the online market there.
