Visiting restrictions imposed at Beaumont Hospital

Visiting restrictions have been extended at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, following an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

Management are asking the public not to visit a patient in the hospital unless the person is critically ill.

Children are not permitted to visit the hospital under any circumstances.

It is hoped a visiting ban will prevent others from contracting the illness, also known as norovirus.

Essential visits may only take place between 2-4pm and between 6-8pm, with only one visitor allowed per patient.
