Eamon Gilmore also told the Dáil he supported Roisin Shortall in what she was doing in the Department of Health "at all times".
He has refused an Opposition request for the Coalition to publish all documentation surrounding the primary care centre selection process, saying that they are available under the Freedom of Information Act.
He also said that he has received assurances all primary care centre sites are selected appropriately.
"I met earlier today with Minister Reilly, with the Secretary-General of the Department of Health, with the new CEO of the HSE, and they have told me directly that there was no ministerial involvement of any kind in the selection of any individual site for a primary care centre," he said.
