Himalayan avalanche kills two, 13 missing

An avalanche has swept away climbers on a Himalayan peak, killing a German and a Nepalese and leaving 13 others missing, according to police in Nepal.

Police official Basanta Bahadur Kuwar said the avalanche swept down Mount Manaslu in northern Nepal today.

He said a German man and a Nepalese guide were killed. The 13 missing included Germans, French and Nepalese. He said 10 others on the team were able to survive
