Farmers demand better prices from supermarkets

Farmers are demanding increased prices for their products from supermarkets.

More than 300 people have held peaceful walk-throughs in the Portlaoise, Co. Laois branches of Tesco, Dunnes Stores, Lidl, Aldi and Superquinn.

The Irish Farmers Association claims the low prices being paid by retailers is forcing farmers out of business.
