Ombudsman sees rise in complaints against banks

That represents a 5% rise when compared to the same period last year.
Up to 40% of the grievances against banks related to mortgages - including tracker rate issues, poor administration and dissatisfaction over repayment terms.
However, the Financial Services Ombudsman, Bill Prasifka, expects the second half of the year to be even busier for his office as the extent of customers' anger over the Ulster Bank IT glitch is made clear.
