Bord Gais Energy gets approval to raise prices

Residential gas prices for Bord Gais customers are set to rise again from next month by 8.5%.

The Commission for Energy Regulation has approved the request by Bord Gais Energy.

The CER has said that the increase relates mostly to the decrease in value of the euro against sterling as well as the increase in distribution charges.

The increase will apply to all Bord Gais residential gas customers.
