The home heating supplier claims a company, InfernEco, is in the process of marketing its firelighting technology in the UK despite an exclusive licensing agreement with Bord na Mona.
Bord na Mona's lawyers have told the High Court they urgently need to restrain InfernEco from trying to secure the winter market in the UK.
The supplier claims to have been granted an exclusive license for firelighting products Fireformer and Fire Maker.
Barrister Francis Kieran said the dispute has escalated in recent days as InfernEco has confrmed it has written to clients of Bord na Mona directing them not to distribute the Fireformer and Fire Maker products on the grounds that Bord na Mona is not the authorised distributor.
He claimed the company is threatening to write again to companies like Tesco Group advising that the firelighters have to be removed from their shelves.
Ms Justice Mary Irvine is satisfied the case is urgent and has scheduled a hearing for Friday.
