Two arrested in Cork in connection with Clare shooting

Robert Sheehan was shot a number of times while he attended a wedding in Bunratty in the early hours of this morning. He remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Two men in their 20s were arrested in Cork this morning, and are being held for questioning at Mayfield and Gurranabraher garda stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
At around 3.40am, 21-year-old Mr Sheehan from Moyross in Limerick was attending a family wedding when he stepped outside to have a cigarette.
He was approached by two gunmen and shot a number of times in the head and body.
The gunmen then fled the scene in a dark-coloured saloon-type car.
Mr Sheehan was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick, where he is now said to be fighting for his life.
The victim is known to gardaí and has served a number of jail sentences for serious criminal activity.
An incident room has been set up and gardaí at Shannon garda station are appealing for anyone with information on the attack to contact them.
