Third man arrested in connection with Dublin drug seizure

A third man has tonight been arrested in connection with a major drug seizure yesterday.

350 kilos of cocaine were discovered during searches in counties Kildare and Dublin - the street value of the haul is being put at up to €250 million.

Two men were arrested yesterday, while a third man - in his forties - were detained in the Drimnagh area of Dublin this evening.

He's being held at Clondalkin Garda Station, under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

The shipment arrived into Dublin Port in recent weeks - and has been under surveillance by the drugs squad and revenue.

Crime reporter Paul Williams has said that while it is significant, the seizure will only put the brakes on the trade for a short while.
