Sinn Féin will finalise its pre-budget submission to the Government today which details how €4bn in spending cuts and taxes can be achieved in December's Budget.
Sinn Féin will finalise its pre-budget submission to the Government today which details how €4bn in spending cuts and taxes can be achieved in December's Budget.

The party will also discuss the devolution of justice and policing powers in the North at its Ard Comhairle in Dublin.

The party said the key to solving the crisis in the public finances is to save and create jobs.

The party's Vice-President Mary Lou McDonald said: "We think it's entirely possible to address the public finance situation, but it's absolutely essential that you address the issue of unemployment and the Government so far have absolutely failed to do that.

"We're setting out a plan for an economic stimulus package. While we accept that savings have to be made we've argued consistently that unless we get to grips with the whole issue of work - keeping people in work, creating new employment and creating a positive dynamic in the economy - encouraging people to spend. If we don't do that we are on a downward spiral."
